The Pyramid of Surprising Friends
Barnaby was a small golden dog with floppy ears and a big heart. Every morning, he dug in his garden, hoping to find something magical. One sunny day, his paws hit something hard and shiny. It was a tiny pyramid, no bigger than his paw, glowing with soft blue light.
Barnaby licked the pyramid, and suddenly — POOF! — he grew as tall as a tree! The pyramid floated into the air, and a door appeared in its side. Inside sat a little green zombie named Zara, wearing a sparkly purple dress.
"Please don't run!" Zara called out. "I'm not scary. I'm just lonely. Everyone runs away when they see me."
Barnaby wagged his tail. He didn't care what Zara looked like. He licked her face, and she giggled. "You're the nicest friend I've ever made!"
Suddenly, a grumpy bull named Bruno charged toward them. His horns looked sharp, and his hooves pounded the ground. "Get away from my garden!" Bruno bellowed.
But Barnaby stood bravely between Bruno and Zara. He growled softly, not to fight, but to protect his new friend. Bruno stopped. He had never seen a dog protect someone so different from himself.
"Why are you protecting a zombie?" Bruno asked, his voice softer now.
"Because friends come in all shapes and sizes," Zara said, stepping forward. "Even zombies need friends. Even grumpy bulls need friends."
Bruno's eyes filled with tears. "Nobody wants to be my friend either. They say I'm too scary."
The little pyramid twinkled above them, and suddenly Bruno shrunk to the size of a puppy. Now all three could play together without fear. They realized the pyramid had granted them something magical — not just size changes, but the ability to see past appearances.
That day, Barnaby, Zara, and Bruno learned that true friendship isn't about how you look. It's about kindness, bravery, and giving everyone a chance. And every night, the tiny pyramid still glows in Barnaby's garden, reminding them that the best friends often come in the most surprising packages.
