The Pyramid of Stars
Lily loved her iPhone, but tonight it flickered with something strange. A glowing pyramid symbol appeared on the screen, pulsing like a heartbeat. When she touched it, her room melted away.
She found herself standing before a magnificent pyramid made entirely of crystallized starlight. It shimmered in colors she had no names for—purple-gold and azure-green.
"You came!" squeaked a tiny voice. A creature no bigger than her thumb popped out from behind a crystal brick. He had the softest brown fur, curved horns that sparkled like diamonds, and the kindest eyes Lily had ever seen.
"I'm Barnaby," he said. "I'm a star-bull. I guard this pyramid when the moon smiles."
Lily gasped. "A bull? But you're so tiny!"
"Big things come in small packages," Barnaby winked. "Want to see something magical?"
He tapped his hoof against the pyramid's side. Suddenly, they were swimming through liquid starlight, weightless and breathless. Galaxies spun around them like glowing cotton candy. Ancient stories flowed through the star-stream—tales of friendship, of courage, of dreams that refused to die.
"The pyramid collects happy memories," Barnaby explained. "Your iPhone brought you here because you have so much wonder inside you."
Lily's heart swelled. "Can I come back?"
"Whenever you need magic," Barnaby promised, pressing his warm nose against her palm. "Just remember—the real pyramid is inside you. Every friend you make, every dream you chase, builds it taller and brighter."
With a spark of starlight, Lily was back in her room. Her iPhone screen showed only a tiny pyramid icon, glowing softly. She fell asleep smiling, her heart full of impossible magic.
From that night on, Lily saw pyramids everywhere—in stacked books, in snow forts, in the way morning light hit her window. And sometimes, just sometimes, she spotted a tiny sparkle that looked exactly like a miniature bull with diamond horns, reminding her that friendship is the greatest magic of all.
