The Pyramid of Sleepy Dreams
Maya and Leo were playing in their grandmother's dusty attic when they spotted something strange. A small crystal pyramid sat on an old wooden shelf, glowing with soft purple light. Inside, a tiny figure was sleeping peacefully.
"Is that a zombie?" Leo whispered, hiding behind Maya. "Like in the scary movies?"
The figure stirred and opened one eye. "I'm not a zombie!" it squeaked in a tiny, friendly voice. "I'm a Sleepy Keeper. I've been guarding this pyramid for three hundred years, but I forgot my magic vitamin pill, so now I can't wake up properly."
The Sleepy Keeper was the size of Maya's hand, with soft blue skin and silver hair that floated like seaweed. He explained that the Golden Vitamin grew on the very top of the tallest talking palm tree in the magical garden behind their grandmother's house.
"We'll help you!" Maya said bravely. The three friends set off running through the garden. The palm tree's leaves rustled with laughter. "Climb me, little ones!" the tree called. Maya and Leo scrambled up the rough trunk while the Sleepy Keeper floated beside them.
At the very top, nestled among green coconuts, sat one perfect golden fruit. The moment the Sleepy Keeper swallowed it, his blue skin began to sparkle like stars. He grew until he was Maya's height, then bowed gracefully.
"Thank you," he said, pressing something into each child's palm. Two tiny crystal pyramids appeared. "These will help you remember that friendship is the best magic of all."
Maya and Leo ran back to the house, clutching their gifts. They had discovered that some things called 'scary' were really just waiting for the right friends to come along.
