The Pyramid of Lost Dreams
Lily loved exploring. Every day after school, she'd grab her favorite purple hat with the sparkly star on top and head to the old oak tree behind her house. But today was different. Today, the hat seemed to pull her toward the mysterious clearing she'd never noticed before.
In the middle of the clearing stood a crystal pyramid, shimmering like captured sunlight. Lily stepped closer, and suddenly the pyramid's doors swung open!
Inside, she found the most surprising thing: a zombie. But this zombie wasn't scary at all. He had messy green hair that stuck up in every direction, kind hearts for eyes, and he was busy organizing piles of colorful dreams into neat little stacks.
"Hello!" said the zombie, whose name was Zimpy. "I'm the guardian of the Pyramid of Lost Dreams. Children leave their dreams here when they stop believing in them."
Lily's eyes grew wide. "You mean forgotten dreams?"
Zimpy nodded. "Like swimming with mermaids. Or flying to Mars on a rocket made of marshmallows. But the most important dreams are the ones about friendship."
He showed Lily a dream that looked like a glowing blue ribbon. "This dream belongs to someone who wants to be brave enough to make new friends."
Lily thought about the new girl at school, Maya, who sat alone at lunch. "I know who that dream belongs to!"
"Would you help me return it?" Zimpy asked. "But first, you must believe in magic."
Lily closed her eyes and made a wish. Suddenly, she and Zimpy were swimming through a river of stars, floating above her town. They found Maya's window and gently placed the dream beside her bed.
The next day at school, Lily sat next to Maya. "Want to play together?"
Maya's face lit up. "Yes! I had the most wonderful dream last night. Someone reminded me that being brave just means saying hello first."
Lily touched her purple hat and smiled. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that help others find their own magic.
