The Pyramid of Golden Threads

Leo loved exploring his grandmother's attic. It smelled like old books and secrets, and there was always something new to discover.

One rainy Saturday, Leo found something he'd never seen before. Tucked behind a stack of dusty boxes was a thick black cable. It looked like it belonged to a computer, but it was strangely warm to the touch. When Leo gave it a gentle tug, the cable began to glow.

Not just a little glow. It shone like captured sunshine, golden and bright.

"Whoa," Leo breathed.

The cable started moving on its own, slithering across the attic floor like a friendly snake. Leo found himself running after it, skipping around boxes and ducking under cobwebs.

"Wait! Come back!" he called, laughing.

The golden cable led Leo to the attic's far corner, where it wrapped itself around an old mirror. As Leo watched, the mirror's surface rippled like a pond. Through the glass, he saw something impossible—a shimmering pyramid made entirely of light.

Someone was inside it. A girl about Leo's age, waving frantically.

"Hello!" Leo called. "Can you hear me?"

"Yes!" the girl's voice echoed through the glass. "I've been waiting for you! I'm Maya!"

The cable had become a bridge between their worlds. Maya explained that she was from a place where wishes lived—pyramids of light that held everyone's dreams. But she was lonely. She needed a friend to help keep the wishes bright.

Leo knew exactly what to do. He reached through the mirror and took Maya's hand. The cable pulsed happily, and suddenly Leo was standing inside the pyramid of light. It was more beautiful than anything he'd ever imagined—swirling colors that tasted like cotton candy and sounded like music.

"Every wish needs a friend to believe in it," Maya said, showing Leo how the pyramid glowed brighter when they worked together.

They spent the afternoon playing among the drifting wishes, feeding their own friendship into the pyramid's light. When it was time for Leo to return home, the cable helped him find his way back.

"Visit every day," Maya said. "The pyramid needs friends to keep shining."

Leo promised he would. Some things are too magical to keep to yourself, after all—and the best adventures are the ones you share with a friend.
