The Pyramid of Dreams

Maya loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she would grab her glove and start running toward the park where her team practiced. But today was different.

As Maya ran past the old oak tree, she noticed something sparkling. A golden pyramid, no bigger than a lunchbox, sat nestled between the roots. She picked it up and it felt warm, like it had been waiting just for her.

"What are you?" Maya whispered.

Suddenly, the pyramid glowed and a tiny door appeared. Inside, Maya saw miniature kids playing baseball on a diamond field that shimmered like stardust.

"We need a friend!" a tiny voice called out. "Will you play with us?"

Maya nodded yes. The pyramid grew until Maya could step inside, and suddenly she was the same size as the magical children. They handed her a bat that sparkled with rainbow colors.

"In our game," explained a small boy named Leo, "the real winner isn't the one who scores the most. It's the one who helps their friends play their best."

Maya thought about her teammate Sam, who always struck out and felt sad. The next day at real baseball practice, Maya didn't focus on hitting home runs. Instead, she spent extra time helping Sam practice his swing.

"Keep your eye on the ball," she said gently. "You've got this!"

That day, Sam hit his first double. His smile was bigger than any trophy Maya had ever won.

That night, the pyramid appeared again in Maya's room. "You learned our secret," the tiny children said. "The magic isn't in winning—it's in lifting each other up."

Maya kept the pyramid on her nightstand. Every time she looked at it, she remembered: kindness is the most valuable home run of all.
