The Pyramid of Dreams
Lily pushed her **spinach** around her plate, wishing it would disappear. She wanted to be outside playing **baseball** with her friends, not stuck inside eating dinner. Just then, her golden retriever Buster started barking excitedly at the closet door.
"What is it, Buster?" Lily asked, setting down her fork.
The closet door creaked open by itself, revealing a shimmering golden light. Inside, where her coats usually hung, stood a magnificent **pyramid** made of sparkling crystals. It glowed with every color of the rainbow.
Buster wagged his tail and stepped inside. Lily followed, her heart pounding with excitement.
Suddenly, they weren't in the closet anymore. They stood in a magical desert where the sand was made of tiny stars and the sky swirled with purple clouds. The crystal pyramid towered above them, humming with ancient music.
A young boy appeared, floating above the sand. "Welcome! I've been waiting for a **friend**."
His name was Zephyr, and he was the guardian of the Pyramid of Dreams. "Inside this pyramid live all the dreams that children have forgotten about," he explained. "But someone has been eating too much junk food and not enough healthy food, and the dreams are getting weak!"
Lily looked down at her feet, feeling guilty. She had refused her spinach.
"The pyramid needs strong, healthy children to help protect the dreams," Zephyr said gently. "Will you help us?"
Lily nodded. "What do I need to do?"
"First, promise me you'll eat your spinach," Zephyr smiled. "Then, hit this magical baseball into the pyramid's heart!"
He handed her a glowing baseball bat and a ball that shimmered like moonlight. Lily thought of all the dreams she wanted to protect—dreams of flying, of exploring, of becoming an astronaut. With all her might, she swung the bat.
*CRACK!*
The baseball soared through the air and hit the crystal pyramid. Light burst forth like fireworks, filling the sky with dancing dreams—unicorns, dragons, rockets, and castles.
"Thank you, Lily!" Zephyr cheered. "The dreams are safe again!"
Lily hugged Buster and waved goodbye as they stepped back through the closet.
At dinner the next night, Lily ate every bite of her spinach without complaint. She knew that being strong meant protecting not just her own dreams, but the dreams of children everywhere.
And sometimes, she whispered to Buster, she could still hear the pyramid humming its magical song.
