The Pyramid of Courage

Lily and Sam were exploring their grandmother's dusty attic when they spotted something strange—a small golden pyramid sitting on an old wooden shelf. It shimmered in the afternoon sunlight that streamed through the circular window.

"What is it?" Sam whispered, reaching out carefully.

The pyramid was attached to a thick braided cable that stretched up through a tiny hole in the ceiling. Lily gave the cable a gentle tug, and suddenly the whole pyramid began to glow.

A tiny door popped open on the pyramid's side, and inside sat three colorful gems that looked just like giant vitamin tablets. One was ruby red, one was emerald green, and one was sapphire blue.

A small scroll appeared beside them. It read: 'Take only what you truly need.'

Lily bit her lip. She was afraid of the dark and wished she could be braver. Sam wished he could be better at sharing his toys with their little sister.

"The red one must be for courage," Lily said softly. "And the green one... maybe for kindness?"

"Then blue must be for wisdom," Sam finished. He picked up the green gem and offered it to Lily. "You should take the courage one. You're already kind—you always share with me."

Lily smiled and took the red gem. Sam took the blue one. They left the green gem behind, tucked safely inside the glowing pyramid.

That night, Lily didn't need her nightlight. And when their little sister cried, Sam was the first to comfort her, sharing his favorite stuffed bear without being asked.

The next morning, the pyramid was gone. But in its place sat a note: 'True magic isn't in what you take—it's in what you give away.'

Lily and Sam looked at each other and smiled. They had found something better than magic—they had found courage in themselves and kindness in their hearts. And that was the greatest treasure of all.
