The Pyramid of Baseballs

Leo loved baseball more than anything in the world. He slept with his glove under his pillow and dreamed of hitting home runs that would reach the moon. But there was one thing he absolutely hated: spinach.

"Eat your greens, Leo," his mother said every dinner time. "Spinach makes you strong."

Leo wrinkled his nose. "Baseball makes me strong, not spinach!"

One sunny afternoon, Leo was playing catch in his backyard when his favorite baseball sailed over the fence and into the mysterious old lot next door. He hadn't explored it before because his neighbor, Mr. Patel, said strange things happened there.

Leo climbed the fence carefully. When he landed, he gasped. Right in the middle of the overgrown garden stood a golden pyramid - but not made of stone. It was stacked entirely with baseballs! Thousands of them, glowing softly in the sunlight.

He stepped closer and the baseball pyramid hummed with energy. Suddenly, the baseballs began to float, swirling around him like magical orbiters. One by one, they popped open to reveal tiny, shimmering green leaves inside.

The leaves飘 into Leo's hands, and the most wonderful smell filled the air - fresh and earthy and somehow like sunshine itself. Without thinking, Leo took a bite.

It wasn't yucky at all! It tasted like adventure, like the perfect crack of a bat, like the wind in his hair when he rounded the bases.

Suddenly, Leo understood everything. He could see the invisible threads connecting all things - how spinach grew from the same earth that made the leather for baseballs, how the pyramid builders had played games with spheres just like his, how everything was connected.

Leo pitched the magical leaf-balls into the air, and they arced higher than any baseball had ever flown. That night, he ate all his spinach and dreamed of pyramids and home runs, of strength that came from the most unexpected places.

The next day at baseball practice, Leo hit three home runs in a row. When his coach asked how he'd gotten so powerful, Leo just smiled and said, "Sometimes the things we think are yucky are actually magic."
