The Pyramid in the Pool
Lily loved swimming more than anything. Every summer day, she would jump into her backyard pool, splashing and diving until her fingers wrinkled like raisins. But one Tuesday afternoon, something magical happened.
As Lily surfaced from a dive, she gasped. Rising from the shallow end was a golden pyramid, shimmering like sunrise. It wasn't huge—just taller than her—but it glowed with mysterious light.
"Hello?" she called, swimming closer.
The pyramid hummed, and its surface rippled like water. Suddenly, a tiny door appeared, and out stepped a girl made entirely of blue sparks. She was the size of Lily's hand.
"I'm Cleo!" the spark-girl said. "Will you play with me?"
Lily grinned. "But you're so small! And I'm in my swimming suit!"
"That's perfect!" Cleo clapped. "The pyramid loves pool water. It makes the magic work!"
For hours, they played the most wonderful games. They had swimming races around the pyramid's base. Cleo showed Lily how the pyramid could create rainbows in the water. They even made bubble shapes that turned into tiny floating fish.
"I wish my friends could see this," Lily said.
Cleo's smile faded. "The pyramid only appears to lonely hearts. But now that you're my friend, maybe..."
She touched Lily's forehead. A warm glow spread through her. "Now you can always find magic. Just look with your heart, not just your eyes."
The pyramid began to sink. "Goodbye, friend!"
"Wait!" Lily cried. "Will you come back?"
"Whenever you need a friend," Cleo called as she vanished.
That night, Lily's friends came for swimming. Lily closed her eyes and wished. Tiny sparkles danced in the pool's reflection. Her friends gasped in wonder.
"It's magic!" they shouted.
Lily smiled. Sometimes, the best adventures aren't about pyramids or swimming or pool parties. They're about sharing magic with friends—and finding it wherever you look.
