The Pyramid in the Palm Tree
Leo loved summer. Every morning, he'd grab his favorite baseball and race to the backyard where the tall palm tree swayed in the warm breeze. The palm had been Leo's special spot ever since he could climb.
One sticky afternoon, Leo discovered something amazing. High in the palm tree, hidden among the fronds, was a tiny golden pyramid no bigger than his baseball. It sparkled in the sunlight, shimmering like a piece of magic.
"What are you?" Leo whispered, gently lifting the tiny pyramid.
Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet rippled like water. Leo gasped as his backyard transformed into an endless blue ocean. He wasn't scared — he was swimming!
But this wasn't regular swimming. Leo glided through the air as if it were water, diving and soaring around the palm tree, which now grew as tall as a mountain.
"You found my pyramid!" said a voice like tinkling bells.
A girl with silver hair appeared, swimming through the air beside him. "I'm Marina. I'm the Sky Swimmer."
"I'm Leo," he said, still holding the tiny golden pyramid.
"That pyramid belongs to the Sky Kingdom," Marina explained. "It fell from the clouds last week. I've been searching everywhere!"
Leo's heart sank. He wanted to keep the magical treasure, but he knew it belonged to someone else.
"Here," Leo said, handing it to her. "It's yours."
Marina's eyes twinkled. "Thank you for being honest. That's the most important magic of all."
She reached into her pocket and pulled out something small. "This is for you — a sky-pebble. It'll make your baseball fly straight and true every time you throw it."
Leo blinked, and suddenly he was back in his backyard, holding a smooth blue stone. The palm tree waved at him gently, and somewhere high above, he thought he heard a giggle.
That day, Leo learned that the best magic isn't about keeping treasure — it's about doing the right thing. And sometimes, the most wonderful adventures happen right in your own backyard, especially when you share them with new friends.
