The Pyramid in Grandma's Garden

Lily discovered the pyramid hiding behind Grandma's prize-winning pumpkin patch. It wasn't big—only as tall as her knees—but it shimmered with golden light, like something from a fairy tale.

Her orange hair bounced as she ran closer. The pyramid hummed with a mysterious energy, and when Lily touched it, something incredible happened. A glowing screen appeared, floating in midair, just like her mom's iPhone—but magical, filled with swirling colors instead of apps.

"Wow!" Lily breathed.

Suddenly, a tiny face popped into the screen. It was a girl with bright purple hair and a mischievous grin. "Finally! Someone found the Pyramid of Wishes! I've been stuck in here for three hundred years!"

Her name was Zara, and she was a wish-keeper from a time long ago. She explained that the pyramid could grant one wish—but only to someone with a truly kind heart. Outside, storm clouds gathered. Lightning crackled across the dark sky.

"I wish for something amazing," Lily said, "but I don't know what!" Zara smiled. "Close your eyes and think about what makes your heart happiest."

Lily thought about her grandma, who lived alone. She thought about how much fun they had together, baking cookies and planting flowers. She thought about how Grandma sometimes looked lonely when Lily went home.

"I wish," Lily said softly, "that Grandma could have a friend who's always with her. Someone to share her garden and her tea and her stories."

The pyramid flared with golden light. Lightning struck nearby, and the whole garden sparkled.

When Lily opened her eyes, Zara stood beside her, no longer trapped in the pyramid. She was real, and she hugged Lily with gratitude. Grandma appeared at the back door, her eyes wide with wonder.

The pyramid had granted Lily's wish in the most perfect way. Zara became Grandma's constant friend and companion, sharing stories from ancient times and learning about modern life. They planted orange marigolds together, baked cookies, and laughed every day.

And sometimes, when Lily visited, all three of them would sit in the garden, watching the sunset paint the sky in brilliant colors. Lily had discovered something magical: the best wishes aren't for yourself—they're for the people you love.

The small pyramid still hums in the pumpkin patch, waiting for another kind heart to discover its magic.
