The Pyramid Garden Secret

Lila had the wildest **hair** in her entire class. It bounced like springs when she walked and stood up in every direction when she woke up. Her mama called it her magic crown.

One sunny afternoon, while digging behind the old oak tree, Lila's shovel hit something hard. She brushed away the dirt and gasped. There, hidden for who knows how long, was a tiny golden **pyramid** no bigger than a lunchbox.

When Lila touched it, the pyramid popped open like a puzzle box.

Inside sat the smallest bull she had ever seen, only three inches tall, with bright orange fur and kind brown eyes.

"Oh thank goodness!" squeaked the tiny bull. "I've been trapped in here for one hundred years!"

Lila's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"All magical bulls can talk," the bull said importantly. "I'm Barnaby. And you are my savior!"

Barnaby explained that inside the pyramid grew magical **spinach** that could grant one wish to anyone pure of heart. But his garden needed water to bloom.

Lila carefully poured her water bottle into the pyramid's tiny soil. Instantly, brilliant **orange** spinach leaves sprouted up, glowing like little moons.

"Quick!" said Barnaby. "Make a wish!"

Lila thought carefully. She could wish for anything—flying horses, infinite candy, a castle of her own. But she looked at Barnaby, who had been trapped for so long, all alone.

"I wish that Barnaby could be big again and live wherever he wants, with friends who love him."

The spinach shimmered. Barnaby grew larger and larger until he was a full-sized bull with gleaming orange fur. He nuzzled Lila's hand with his warm nose.

"You saved me," Barnaby said softly. "But that's not all. Look!"

Lila's wild hair had turned a beautiful shade of orange-gold, and she could hear the whispers of the garden, feel the joy of every growing thing.

"Your kindness gave you magic of your own," Barnaby said. "Now come on. I know the best places to run."

And so Lila and Barnaby became the best of friends, running through fields and sharing secrets, proving that the greatest magic of all is a kind heart.
