The Pyramid Ball Game
Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her worn-out glove and run to the park. But today was different. Today, her ball bounced into the old museum's garden.
She chased it past ancient statues and strange rocks until—WOOSH! Her ball rolled right into a tiny golden pyramid sitting on a pedestal. Suddenly, the pyramid began to glow! It grew bigger and bigger until it was as tall as Lily herself.
"Who dares wake me?" boomed a voice from inside.
Lily's knees knocked together, but she stood tall. "I'm Lily, and I was just playing baseball!"
The pyramid's door creaked open, revealing a friendly-looking pharaoh with sparkling eyes. "Baseball? My favorite sport! In ancient Egypt, we played with stone balls and wooden bats made from sacred trees."
"Really?" Lily gasped. "Want to play with me?"
The pharaoh clapped his hands. "But first, you must be strong like an Egyptian warrior!" He handed her a bundle of green leaves. "This is magical spinach from the gardens of the Nile. One bite will give you the power of ten pharaohs!"
Lily made a funny face. "Spinach? Yuck!"
"Trust me, little baseball player," the pharaoh winked.
Gulp! Lily ate the spinach and—ZING! Energy raced through her body. She could run faster, jump higher, and throw harder than ever before.
"Now," said the pharaoh, pulling out an ancient wooden bat, "let's play!"
They played for hours under the golden sunset. Lily hit balls so far they seemed to touch the clouds. The pharaoh taught her secret Egyptian batting techniques passed down for thousands of years.
As the first stars appeared, the pharaoh smiled. "You have a true athlete's heart, Lily. Remember: real strength comes from courage, kindness, and trying new things—even when they seem yucky at first."
He pressed a small golden pyramid charm into her hand. "Whenever you need extra courage on the baseball field, just hold this and remember our game."
Lily promised she would. The next day at baseball practice, her coach couldn't believe how far she could hit. But Lily knew her secret: sometimes the most powerful magic comes from the most unexpected places—like a friendly pharaoh, a magical pyramid, and yes, even spinach!
