The Pyramid at the Bottom of the Pool

Leo loved **baseball** more than anything. Every day after school, he'd practice hitting in his backyard, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But Leo had a secret – he was afraid of the deep end of the pool.

"Take your **vitamin**, Leo!" his grandma called every morning. She gave him a bright orange pill she swore gave courage. Leo didn't feel brave, but he took it anyway.

One hot afternoon, Leo and his best friend Ruby went to the community pool. While everyone splashed in the shallow end, Leo noticed something strange. At the bottom of the deep end, something glittered.

"Is that... a **pyramid**?" Ruby asked, squinting through her goggles.

Leo's heart pounded. He'd heard the legend – anyone brave enough to touch the Sunken Pyramid would receive one magical wish.

"I have to go down there," Leo said, his voice shaking.

"You can do it!" Ruby cheered. "Remember your vitamin!"

Leo took a deep breath and plunged into the cool blue water. Down, down, down he swam. The pyramid grew larger – golden and glowing, covered in mysterious symbols. His lungs burned. He wanted to surface, but something inside him pushed forward.

His fingers brushed the smooth golden surface. WHOOSH! Bubbles swirled around him. Suddenly, the pyramid opened, revealing a treasure inside – not gold or jewels, but a small, glowing **baseball**.

Leo grabbed it and kicked upward, bursting into the sunlight. The ball pulsed with warmth in his hand.

"What happened?" Ruby asked, eyes wide.

Leo held up the ball. "It's magic. But I don't think I need to make a wish."

"Why not?"

Leo smiled. "Because I did it. I went to the deep end all by myself. I was brave enough."

That evening, Leo's grandma smiled when he told her his story. "You know," she said, "those vitamins weren't magic. The courage was inside you all along."

Leo grinned, placing the glowing baseball on his nightstand. He'd found treasure at the bottom of the pool – but the real treasure was the brave boy he'd discovered within himself.
