The Pyramid Above the Clouds
Lily and Max loved Saturdays, especially when their grandmother let them ride the old cable car that rattled across the mountain valley. The cable car groaned and swayed like a sleepy giant as it climbed higher and higher, until their house looked like a tiny toy below.
"What's that?" Lily gasped, pointing to a shimmering golden pyramid perched on the highest peak. It hadn't been there before—or had it? The pyramid glowed with rainbow colors that danced like sunlight on soap bubbles.
"Let's go see!" Max shouted, already running toward the peak when the cable car reached the top station.
But something strange was happening. A slow-moving figure emerged from behind the pyramid—a zombie! But this wasn't a scary zombie like in movies. He wore a patchwork robe and moved like he was dancing in slow motion.
"Welcome, young friends," the zombie said with a kind smile. "I am Zed, guardian of the Wish Pyramid. Are you hungry? I was just making my famous spinach soup!"
Lily and Max followed Zed inside the magical pyramid, where walls sparkled with ancient symbols. Zed stirred a big pot of bright green spinach soup that smelled like sunshine and rainbows.
"This spinach makes you brave," Zed explained. "The pyramid grants one wish to those who prove their courage. But first—you must help me!"
"What do you need?" Max asked, his eyes wide.
"The Wish Pyramid is dying," Zed said sadly. "Children stopped believing in magic. They stopped running outside, stopped exploring, stopped imagining. The pyramid needs wonder to glow."
Lily looked at her brother, and they both knew what to do. They started running—racing through the pyramid's rooms, playing tag, laughing until their bellies hurt. As they played, the walls began to glow brighter. Zed danced his slow-motion dance, clapping his hands with joy.
"We believe!" Lily shouted. "We believe in magic!"
Suddenly, the pyramid burst with golden light. Zed handed them both bowls of spinach soup. "You've brought magic back to the mountain. Your wish?"
"We wish every child could see this place!" they said together.
Now, on clear Saturdays, if you look closely, you might see children running and playing on a golden pyramid above the clouds, glowing with wonder. And somewhere in the valley, a cable car still rattles toward adventure.
