The Pool That Sent Text Messages

Lily loved the old swimming pool in her backyard. It wasn't just any pool — at night, the water sometimes glowed blue like moonlight. Her parents said it was just the pool lights, but Lily knew better.

One evening, while running laps around the pool edge (her favorite before-dinner exercise), something splashed. A shiny iPhone! It shouldn't have worked after being underwater, but when Lily pressed the button, it lit up.

A message appeared: "Hello! Can you help me?" Lily gasped. The phone wasn't broken — it was magic!

"Who are you?" she typed.

"I'm Splash, the water sprite who lives in your pool! I dropped my phone while swimming. Thank you for finding it!"

Lily couldn't believe it. A real magical creature lived in her pool?

"Will you be my friend?" Splash asked. "I've been lonely for so long. No one ever believes in magic anymore."

Lily smiled. "I believe!" She sat by the pool's edge, watching tiny ripples form patterns in the water. The iPhone buzzed again.

"Want to see something amazing?"

Suddenly, the pool water began to swirl, glowing brighter and brighter. Out popped a small blue creature with webbed fingers and sparkling eyes — Splash!

"You're REAL!" Lily cheered, running around with excitement.

"Only because you believed," Splash said. "Most people grow up and stop seeing magic. But you kept wondering."

That night, they ran around the garden together, Splash leaping through the sprinkler while Lily danced in the puddles. The iPhone sat on the porch, its screen lighting up every few minutes with new messages from Splash's underwater friends.

When the moon rose high, Splash had to return to the pool. "Visit tomorrow?"

"Every day!" Lily promised.

As she walked inside, the iPhone buzzed one last time: "Thank you for being magical." Lily hugged the phone, knowing some adventures were just beginning.

And every evening after that, you could find a girl running around her pool, laughing with her water sprite friend, proving that magic exists for anyone who believes.
