The Pool Party Guest

Lily loved summer evenings best of all. The sun painted the sky pink and orange as she slipped into her swimsuit for some twilight swimming. Her family's pool shimmered like liquid diamonds in the backyard.

But something unusual caught her eye near the garden fence. A enormous black bear sat peacefully on the grass, watching her with gentle, curious eyes. Most children would have been afraid, but Lily sensed something different about this visitor.

The bear held something shiny in its massive paw—an old iPhone someone had lost in the woods months ago. Even stranger, a mysterious cable wrapped around a tree nearby seemed to glow with soft blue light.

"Are you here for the pool party too?" Lily asked, her voice barely a whisper.

The bear nodded slowly and pointed at the phone with its nose. Amazingly, the screen flickered to life, showing an old photograph of the very same pool, but with magical creatures—mermaids, water sprites, and friendly bears—splashing happily together.

Suddenly, Lily understood. This wasn't just any bear. This was Bruno from the magical pool party photograph, somehow crossed from another world into hers. The glowing cable was a bridge between their worlds.

"The water's perfect," Lily said, stepping aside.

Bruno carefully placed the phone on a dry towel and waded into the shallow end. The bear swam with surprising grace, creating gentle waves that tickled Lily's toes. They splashed and played until the stars came out, two new friends sharing a magical summer evening.

When Bruno finally climbed out and returned through the glowing cable, Lily knew some friendships are written in the stars. And every evening after that, she checked the poolside, hoping her bear friend might return for another twilight swim.
