The Pool of Wishing Stars

Lily and Leo loved exploring their grandmother's attic. One rainy afternoon, they found something peculiar—a golden pyramid hidden behind old boxes. It was no bigger than a dinner plate, but it shimmered with an inner light.

"What do you suppose it does?" Lily whispered, tracing its smooth surface.

Suddenly, the pyramid floated from her hands and zipped through the attic wall! The children followed it outside, where it landed beside their swimming pool. The pool water began to glow like liquid stars.

"Whoa!" Leo gasped.

A thick golden cable emerged from the pyramid's peak, stretching toward the sky. But something was wrong—the cable drooped sadly, barely lifting off the ground.

A tiny face appeared in the pyramid's surface. "I am Pyramid Pete," it squeaked. "My wishing cable needs magic to reach the Wishing Star, but I've lost my power source!"

"What powers it?" Lily asked.

"Something green and leafy that makes you strong," Pete explained sadly. "The magical spinach from the moon garden!"

The children exchanged excited glances. Their grandmother grew spinach in her garden—maybe that was the magical kind?

They rushed to the garden and gathered fresh spinach leaves. Placing them beside the pyramid, they watched in amazement as the leaves absorbed moonlight from the sky and began to sparkle.

"Feed me!" Pete cheered.

Lily and Leo placed the glowing spinach into the pyramid's base. Instantly, the golden cable shot upward, growing stronger and brighter. It stretched higher and higher until it touched a brilliant star twinkling above.

The pool water churned and sparkled, transforming into a swirling portal of colors.

"You've restored my magic!" Pyramid Pete exclaimed. "One wish each, my friends!"

Lily wished for courage to try new things. Leo wished for kindness to spread everywhere. The pyramid granted their wishes, and they felt warm tingles spread through their bodies.

"Remember," Pete said as he faded away, "the strongest magic comes from the simplest things. Even humble spinach can power the greatest dreams."

That night, Lily and Leo drifted to sleep dreaming of pyramids and wishing stars, knowing magic existed everywhere—even in their own backyard.
