The Pool of Wishing Stars
Lily and Marco were best friends who loved exploring. One hot summer day, they found something amazing behind old Mr. Henderson's garage — a hidden pool of crystal blue water.
"Wow!" whispered Lily, her curly hair bouncing as she jumped excitedly. "Where did this come from?"
Marco noticed something strange. An old cable stretched across the water, glowing with soft golden light. When he touched it, ripples of magic spread across the pool's surface.
Suddenly, the water began to bubble and sparkle. Slowly, a crystal pyramid rose from the center, reaching toward the sky. Inside the pyramid floated hundreds of tiny stars.
"Make a wish!" cried Marco, remembering the stories his grandmother told him about magical places.
Lily closed her eyes tight. "I wish for forever friendship!"
The stars swirled around them. One star landed in each child's palm, warming their skin like sunshine. The cable hummed a gentle melody, and the pyramid's light grew even brighter.
"I wish that everyone could find a friend like you," Marco said solemnly.
The water glittered with approval. More stars danced upward, joining the real stars in the evening sky. Each star carried a friendship wish to someone somewhere who needed it.
The crystal pyramid slowly sank back into the pool, but the magic remained. Every summer after that, Lily and Marco returned to their special place. They learned that the best magic isn't in pyramids or glowing cables — it's in friendship, kindness, and wishes made with pure hearts.
And somewhere, somehow, other children found their own magical pools, because two friends had been brave enough to make wishes that included everyone else.
