The Pool of Wishing Stars

Lily pushed her wild red **hair** out of her eyes and leaned over the edge of the old swimming **pool**. But this wasn't just any pool — her grandmother said it was filled with magic during summer. Lily had dropped something important yesterday, and today she was going to find it.

"Need help?" a voice asked behind her.

Lily turned to see a boy with curly dark **hair** and kind brown eyes. "I'm Leo," he said with a smile. "Want to be **friend**s?"

Leo peered into the shimmering blue water. "What are we looking for?"

"My dad's old **baseball** card," Lily explained. "It's his favorite — he's had it since he was a kid. I was showing it to him yesterday, and it slipped right out of my hand. Plop! Straight into the pool."

Leo's eyes widened. "The Golden Glove card? I know that card! My dad talks about it all the time. It's super rare."

"Exactly!" Lily pulled out her mom's old **iPhone** she'd borrowed. "I'm going to take a picture down there. Maybe we can spot it."

"Wow," Leo breathed. "The fish are guarding it!"

Lily had an idea. She started to sing a little song she'd made up. To her surprise, the fish began to swim in circles, creating a tiny whirlpool. The **baseball** card floated up, up, up — until it reached the surface.

"You did magic!" Leo cheered. "Your song made them help!"

Lily carefully dried off the precious card. "We did it together. That's even better."
