Leo stared at the old pool in his backyard. It hadn't held water in years. But tonight, something shimmered beneath the moonlight.

A tiny goldfish with scales like rainbow dust swam through the air above the empty pool. "You've finally arrived," she whispered with a voice like wind chimes. "I'm Pearl, and I need your help."

Leo's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

"Magic pools always have something to say," Pearl twinkled. "This pool used to be a doorway to the Starlight Kingdom. But someone cut the magic cable that connected our worlds."

She led Leo to the garage, where a dusty baseball sat on a shelf. "This isn't just any baseball," Pearl explained. "It's a Starball, filled with enough vitamin magic to reopen the portal. But you must hit it exactly into the center of the pool at midnight."

Leo practiced all evening under Pearl's guidance. She taught him that the most important things aren't about winning—they're about believing in yourself and helping others.

As midnight approached, Leo stood at the pool's edge. The moon hung directly overhead. Pearl hovered nearby, her scales glowing brighter than ever.

"Remember," she said, "aim with your heart, not just your eyes."

Leo swung the bat. The Starball sailed through the air, trailing sparkles like tiny stars. It landed perfectly in the center of the pool.

Suddenly, water bubbled up from nowhere—not just any water, but liquid starlight that glowed with every color imaginable. The old magic cable that Leo had seen in the garage began to hum, connecting the pool to something far beyond.

Pearl grew larger, transforming into a magnificent fish the size of a dolphin. "Thank you, Leo," she sang. "You've brought magic back to both our worlds. Whenever you need wonder, just visit this pool."

She swam into the starlight, disappearing into a portal that had opened in the water's depths.

The next morning, Leo's mother called him for breakfast. "Time for your vitamin!" she said, handing him a small orange tablet.
