The Pool of Moonlight Magic

Lila loved the backyard pool. Every summer evening, she'd dip her toes into the cool, sparkling water while her golden dog, Sunny, splashed joyfully beside her. The pool had a secret magic – on full moon nights, the water shimmered like liquid silver.

One July evening, just as the moon rose high, Lila noticed something strange. Ripples moved across the pool's surface, but there was no wind. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the water – not a scary monster, but a friendly zombie with bright green skin, a flower crown, and the kindest eyes Lila had ever seen.

"Hello!" said the zombie, whose name was Zola. "I've been waiting for someone to play with." Sunny, instead of barking, wagged his tail furiously and splashed water toward Zola, who laughed and splashed back.

Lila's worries disappeared. "You're not like the zombies in stories," she said.

"Those zombies forgot how to have fun," Zola explained. "I love games and laughter. Want to see my magic?" Zola touched the water, and suddenly the pool filled with glowing fish that swam around Sunny, who barked with delight.

They played until the stars began to fade. Zola taught Lila that appearances don't matter – what's inside does. "True friends see with their hearts, not just their eyes," Zola said before slipping back into the moonlit water.

Now, whenever Lila swims in the pool, she remembers Zola's lesson. And sometimes, on full moon nights, she sees green ripples and knows her magical friend is near, reminding her that kindness and friendship are the greatest magic of all.
