The Phone That Sang With Rain

Lily loved exploring behind her house, where the little creek bubbled over smooth stones. Every day after school, she'd run through the meadow, her red sneakers squishing in the soft grass until she reached her favorite spot—a clearing where wildflowers danced in the breeze.

One Tuesday, something glinted near the water's edge. Lily knelt down and gasped. It was an iPhone, but not like any she'd seen before. This one shimmered like moonlight, with tiny waves etched into its silver case.

"Hello?" she whispered, picking it up.

The screen lit up, but instead of apps or games, droplets of water swirled across the glass like captured rain. A soft voice hummed, like wind through willow leaves.

"I've been waiting for you," said the phone. "I'm Droplet, and I need help getting home to the Cloud Kingdom before sunset."

Lily's eyes widened. "You're a magic phone?"

"I'm a message carrier for the water spirits," Droplet explained. "But I fell from the sky during last night's storm. Will you help me?"

She nodded without hesitating. Together, they followed the creek upstream, Droplet guiding her with glowing ripples that appeared on its screen. They climbed over mossy logs and skipped across slippery stones. Lily was running faster than she'd ever run before, her heart pounding with excitement.

At last, they reached the waterfall where the mist swirled like tiny dancers. "Throw me into the spray!" Droplet cried.

Lily tossed the phone gently. As it entered the mist, it transformed into a shimmering droplet that sparkled like a diamond, then floated upward on the breeze. A rainbow arched across the sky, and she heard distant laughter.

The next morning, Lily found a small silver box on her windowsill. Inside sat a perfect blue marble that looked like a piece of the sky. Now whenever it rains, she presses the marble to her ear and hears Droplet's thankful whisper: "True friends carry each other home."
