The Phone That Opened Worlds

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One rainy Saturday, she found something strange tucked inside an old wooden box — her grandmother's very first iPhone, dusty but perfectly preserved.

"This was mine when I was your age," Grandma said, her white hair shimmering like moonlight as she smiled. "But it's not just any phone, sweetie. It shows what's hidden."

Lily pressed the button. The screen glowed purple, showing their backyard — but different. In the corner of the garden, where only weeds grew, the phone revealed a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than a shoe box, pulsing with blue light.

Her dog Buster, a scruffy terrier with one ear that stood up, started barking excitedly at the garden wall. He'd always been special, but Lily didn't know how special until now.

"Buster knows," Grandma whispered, her hair falling across her face as she leaned closer. "He's been guarding the secret for years."

That night, while everyone slept, Lily crept outside with Buster. The iPhone's purple glow intensified as they approached the weeds. There it was — the tiny pyramid, its golden surface covered in ancient symbols that seemed to dance in the moonlight.

Buster's fur stood up, and he gave a small bark. The pyramid's top opened like a flower blooming, revealing a swirling portal of stars inside.

"You're not just any dog, are you Buster?" Lily whispered, hugging him tight.

The iPhone in her pocket buzzed with a message: *Guardians and friends welcome here.*

Lily took Buster's paw, and together they stepped into the pyramid's light. What happened next would change everything — but that's another story, for another rainy day.
