The Papaya Game
Barnaby was a bull who loved baseball more than anything. But every time he walked toward the field, the other animals would scramble away. 'He's too big!' the rabbits squeaked. 'He's too scary!' the birds chirped.
Only Cooper, a scruffy little dog with one floppy ear, stayed. 'Want to play catch?' Cooper asked, holding up his favorite ball.
Barnaby's eyes lit up. 'Nobody ever wants to play with me.'
'Well, I do,' Cooper said. 'But you need something special first.' He led Barnaby to the oldest tree in the meadow, where a single golden papaya grew. 'This is the Courage Papaya. One bite gives you the best vitamin in the world – the friendship vitamin.'
Barnaby took a bite. It tasted like sunshine and rainbows! Suddenly, his hooves felt light as feathers. Cooper tossed the baseball, and – CRACK! – Barnaby hit it so high it disappeared into a cloud.
The other animals gathered round, amazed. 'Who knew a bull could play like that?' the rabbits whispered.
'Anyone can,' Barnaby smiled, 'when someone believes in them.'
That day, Barnaby and Cooper formed the Friendship Team. The bull who'd been too scary became the most popular player, because Cooper had seen what nobody else had – a friend waiting to shine. And sometimes, the best magic comes in a papaya, served with a side of kindness.
