Lila was the new girl in town, and she felt as small as a sand crab. She had just moved to a little beach house, and the only friend she had was the seagull who stole her sandwich at lunch.

Every afternoon after school, Lila sat beneath the crooked palm tree in her backyard, watching waves dance against the shore. One day, something glimmered high in the palm fronds. Curious, Lila climbed up and discovered clusters of glowing golden fruits growing among the coconuts.

"Those are sunshine vitamins," whispered a sparkly blue lizard, appearing suddenly beside her. "They only grow for lonely hearts."

Lila's palm tingled as she plucked one. It was warm, like a tiny sun.

"What do they do?" she asked.

"Share them," said the lizard, whose name was Zippy. "And you'll see."

The next day, Lila brought a sunshine vitamin to school. She noticed Marcos, the quiet boy who sat alone, reading books about dragons. Her palm felt warm as she approached him.

"Want to see something magical?" she asked, and split the golden fruit between them.

As Marcos took a bite, his eyes widened. For a moment, the classroom disappeared, and they both saw tiny, friendly dragons dancing in the air dragons only they could see.

"You see them too?" Marcos gasped.

From that day on, Lila and Marcos were best friends. They discovered that sharing sunshine vitamins helped others find friends too. The lonely girl at recess? She got one and found a buddy who loved collecting shells. The new kid who missed his old home? He shared a vitamin and met someone who loved the same video games.

Zippy the lizard often visited, reminding them: "The magic wasn't in the vitamins. It was in sharing them."
