The Palm Tree's Secret Friend

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house by the sea. Every morning, she would run to the big **palm** tree that swayed in the ocean breeze like a dancing giant. Its long green leaves whispered secrets in the wind, and Lily always stopped to listen.

One day, as Lily skipped toward the tree, she spotted something strange. A small creature with messy green **hair** and skin as pale as moonlight was sitting beneath the palm fronds. It looked like a tiny **zombie** from her storybooks, but its eyes sparkled like twinkling stars instead of looking scary.

"Please don't run!" the little creature squeaked. "I'm not scary—I'm just Zippy! I'm a garden zombie, and I make things grow!"

Lily tilted her head. "A garden zombie?"

Zippy nodded enthusiastically and pulled a bag from behind his back. "Look what I brought!" Inside were fresh green leaves—**spinach**, just like the kind Lily's grandmother grew in her garden.

"But zombies in stories don't eat vegetables," Lily said, stepping closer.

"That's why they're always so grumpy!" Zippy laughed. "Green food gives me magic powers." He placed a spinach leaf on the sandy ground and sprinkled it with a handful of sparkling **water** from a small bottle. "Watch this!"

Suddenly, the spinach leaf began to grow. It stretched taller and wider until it became a beautiful emerald umbrella, perfect for shading a small friend.

"Wow!" Lily clapped her hands. "Can you teach me?"

Zippy smiled. "Magic grows wherever kindness is planted. That's my secret."

From that day on, Lily and Zippy tended the garden together. The zombie who loved spinach showed Lily that sometimes the scariest-looking things can be the most wonderful friends—if you're brave enough to say hello.

And under their old palm tree, they grew the most magical garden anyone had ever seen, proving that friendship is the strongest magic of all.
