The Palm Tree's Secret Friend

Leo loved the tall palm tree that swayed in his backyard like a dancing green giant. Every afternoon after school, he'd practice tossing his baseball near its trunk, dreaming of becoming a big league player.

One breezy afternoon, Leo's throw went wild. The baseball sailed straight into the palm tree's thick leaves and disappeared. Leo reached in to search, but instead of his ball, his fingers brushed against something smooth and rectangular.

It was an old iPhone, somehow still working! The screen flickered to life, and suddenly a tiny face appeared — a glowing boy with sparkly eyes.

"Hello!" said the tiny boy. "I'm Zoom, and I've been trapped in this phone for fifty years!"

Leo gasped. "You're a real friend!"

"I can grant you one wish," Zoom said, "but you must choose wisely."

Leo thought hard. He could wish for a million baseballs, or to be the greatest player ever, or for a giant treehouse in his palm tree.

Then he looked at Zoom's lonely smile and made his choice. "I wish for you to be free."

The phone grew warm, and Zoom floated out — a real boy now, as big as Leo! They spent the rest of the day playing catch under the palm tree, which now glowed with golden light.

"Thank you for choosing friendship over wishes," Zoom said. "That's the strongest magic of all."

From that day on, Leo learned that the best adventures aren't about what you get — they're about the friends you make along the way. And sometimes, the most magical discoveries happen when you least expect them.
