The Palm Tree's Secret Friend
Leo loved the old palm tree at the edge of his garden. Every morning, he would press his palm against its rough bark and whisper hello. The palm tree always seemed to lean closer, as if listening.
"You're my best friend," Leo would say.
One sunny afternoon, Leo decided to play spy. He crept behind the palm tree, peeking out at the garden. That's when he saw something amazing—a golden bull was walking slowly across the grass!
Leo held his breath. The bull looked magical, with sunlight dancing on its coat. But instead of being scared, Leo felt curious.
The bull stopped by the palm tree and lowered its head. The palm tree's leaves rustled, sounding like gentle laughter.
"Hello, old friend," the bull spoke in a deep, warm voice.
Leo gasped and came out from hiding. "You can talk!"
The bull smiled. "Of course. And you're quite a good spy!"
Leo laughed. "I wasn't really spying. I was just... watching."
"That's what friends do," said the bull. "They watch out for each other."
For weeks, Leo visited his new friend. The bull told wonderful stories about magical gardens and adventures. The palm tree would sway happily, as if dancing to their words.
Then one day, Leo had to run fast to get home before dark. "I have to go!" he called, running toward his house.
"Wait!" the bull called. "Take this."
From the palm tree's branches, a single golden leaf fell into Leo's hand. "Whenever you miss us, hold this leaf. We'll be your friends forever."
Leo pressed the golden leaf to his palm and smiled. Some secrets are meant to be shared—especially the magical ones that teach us about friendship.
