The Palm Tree's Secret Friend

Lila loved living near the beach, where the tall **palm** trees swayed like dancing giants in the warm breeze. Every evening, she would sit beneath her favorite palm tree and watch the sunset paint the sky orange and pink.

One magical twilight, just as the stars began to twinkle, Lila heard something strange. It wasn't the ocean waves. It wasn't the seagulls. It was a soft, gentle snoring coming from behind her palm tree!

Curious and brave, Lila peeked around the trunk. There, fast asleep in the soft sand, was the most surprising creature she had ever seen—a tiny **bull** no bigger than a golden retriever, with fur that sparkled like crushed diamonds and horns that glowed like moonlight.

The little bull opened one eye, then the other. Instead of being scary, he smiled and said, "Hello! I'm Barnaby. I'm the guardian of wishes made under the stars."

Lila's eyes grew wide. "Really?"

"Yes!" Barnaby stood up and stretched. "I come when someone's heart is full of kindness. I've been watching you share your snacks with the seagulls and help baby turtles reach the sea. Would you like to see where I live?"

Lila nodded excitedly. Barnaby lowered his shining horn, and suddenly Lila felt lighter than air. She grabbed onto his back, and they went **running** across the beach—but not like normal running. They were running ABOVE the waves, their feet barely touching the water!

Together they raced toward the horizon, where the sky met the sea. The wind tickled Lila's ears, and she laughed with pure joy. Barnaby showed her secret caves filled with bioluminescent jellyfish, sandcastles built by invisible hands, and a hidden lagoon where the water was warm as bubble bath.

"This is magical!" Lila cheered.

Barnaby smiled. "The real magic isn't this place, Lila. It's that you were brave enough to say hello to someone different. Kindness is the greatest adventure of all."

As the first stars appeared, Barnaby brought Lila back to her palm tree. "Visit me anytime," he whispered. "Just close your eyes and wish with your heart."

That night, Lila fell asleep knowing that friendship can be found in the most unexpected places—and sometimes, the best adventures start with simply being brave enough to say hello.
