The Palm Tree's Magical Baseballs

Tommy loved baseball more than anything, but he was the worst player on his team. Every time he stepped up to bat, the ball would sail past him. Every time he tried to catch, it would slip through his fingers like a slippery fish.

One afternoon, Tommy sat under a giant palm tree near the beach, feeling sad. Tomorrow was the big championship game, and he was afraid he'd let his team down.

"Why do you look so sad?" a voice whispered. Tommy looked around. No one was there.

"Down here, silly!"

Tommy looked down at the palm tree's trunk. A tiny face was peering from the bark! It was a magical tree spirit, no bigger than his thumb.

"I'm bad at baseball," Tommy admitted. "My team needs me, and I'm just going to disappoint everyone."

The spirit smiled warmly. "I have something special for you." The palm tree suddenly shook, and three baseballs dropped from its fronds. But these weren't ordinary baseballs – each one glowed with a different color: red, blue, and yellow.

"These aren't just baseballs," the spirit explained. "Each one contains a magic vitamin. The red one gives courage. The blue one helps you see better. The yellow one makes you quick as lightning. But here's the secret – you must share them with your teammates. Magic only works when you give it away."

Tommy's eyes widened. He grabbed the glowing baseballs and raced to practice.

The next day, during the championship game, Tommy did something amazing. He gave the red baseball to Sarah, who was scared to bat. She hit a home run! He tossed the blue one to Mike, who kept missing catches. He caught every ball after that! And he passed the yellow one to Ling, who needed to run fast. She zoomed around the bases like a shooting star!

Tommy never got to use a magic vitamin himself, but his team won the championship. They lifted him onto their shoulders, cheering for their friend who had shared magic with everyone.

That evening, Tommy visited the palm tree. "Thank you!" he called.

The spirit's tiny face appeared again, twinkling with pride. "You didn't need the magic vitamins, Tommy. You already had the most powerful one of all – a heart big enough to share. That's the best vitamin any champion could have."

Tommy smiled, hugging the palm tree's trunk. From that day on, he was never just the player who shared magic. He was the friend who made everyone believe in themselves – and that was better than any home run.
