The Palm Tree's Magical Baseball

Maya gripped the baseball tight in her sweaty palm. Tomorrow was the Championship Game, and she was terrified. What if she dropped the ball? What if she struck out? The other kids were so big and fast.

"Hey, Maya!" called her best friend Leo, running over. "Want to practice?" He pointed toward the old palm tree at the edge of the field. Its fronds waved like friendly fingers in the ocean breeze.

Maya nodded, but her stomach did flip-flops. Under the palm tree's shade, Leo noticed her trembling hands.

"Nervous?" Leo asked. Maya nodded again, eyes stinging with tears.

Leo reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny orange capsule. "My mom says this is a special vitamin," he explained. "Not for your body, but for your courage. When I'm scared, I hold it and remember: brave isn't not being afraid. Brave is being scared but doing it anyway."

Maya's palm tingled as Leo placed the capsule in her hand. It felt warm, almost magical. "What's it called?" she whispered.

"The Vitamin of You," Leo smiled. "Because you're already brave. You just need to remember."

The palm tree's leaves rustled like applause. Suddenly, a tiny lizard scurried down the trunk, carrying something glowing in its mouth. It dropped a miniature baseball at Maya's feet.

"Is that..." Maya breathed.

The lizard nodded and scampered up the palm tree. Maya picked up the tiny baseball. It pulsed with golden light. When she held it in her palm alongside Leo's courage vitamin, the two seemed to hum together.

"The palm tree left you a gift!" Leo exclaimed. "A magical baseball!"

Maya's fear melted away. She wasn't alone anymore. She had Leo, the palm tree's blessing, and now she understood: courage didn't come from never being scared. It came from facing fear with friends.

The next day, Maya played the best game of her life. She didn't hit a home run, but she caught three amazing fly balls and cheered louder than anyone when her teammates scored.

Afterward, under the same palm tree, Maya showed Leo something she'd made – tiny courage vitamins for all the kids who needed them. The lizard watched from above, flicking its tail in approval.

And somewhere deep in her palm, Maya still felt the warmth of that magical baseball, reminding her that the real Vitamin of You had been inside her all along – just waiting for a friend to help her find it.
