The Palm Tree's Magic Vitamin

Tommy loved baseball more than anything, but he was the worst player on his team. Every time he stepped up to bat, the ball seemed to laugh at him. Whiff! Whiff! Whiff!

One Saturday, Tommy sat under the old palm tree behind the baseball field, wiping tears from his eyes. A tiny woman with silver hair and twinkling blue eyes appeared from nowhere. She wore a dress made of palm leaves and carried a basket filled with glowing orange fruits.

"You have baseball in your heart, little one," she said, her voice like wind chimes, "but you need the magic vitamin of believing in yourself."

She pressed a small amber pill into his palm. It smelled like sunshine and tasted like chocolate covered dreams. "This vitamin won't make you hit home runs," she warned. "It will help you see that you're already strong."

Tommy swallowed the vitamin and felt warmth spread through his chest. At his next game, something amazing happened. When he struck out, instead of crying, he cheered for his teammates. When his friend Jenny missed a catch, Tommy ran to her and said, "You'll get it next time! I believe in you!"

The magic hadn't made Tommy a better player—it had made him a better friend. And something wonderful happened: the more he encouraged others, the better the whole team played. They started winning games, not because Tommy was suddenly a star, but because they believed in each other.

After their final game, Tommy looked for the palm tree woman to thank her, but she was gone. All that remained was a small note in his palm: "The real magic vitamin is friendship. Now go share it with the world."

And Tommy did, becoming not just a baseball player, but a friend who made everyone feel like they could fly.
