The Palm Tree's Magic Gift
Leo loved the old palm tree in his backyard. Its rough bark felt like grandpa's hands, and its leaves danced in the wind like green ribbons. But today, something magical happened.
Leo was playing baseball when the ball sailed straight into the palm tree's highest branches. He climbed up, reaching with his palm open wide. But instead of his baseball, he found something strange—a small glowing ball that looked just like a baseball, except it shimmered like a rainbow.
"What are you?" Leo whispered.
The tiny ball spoke! "I'm a Magic Vitamin Ball! Eat me, and you'll run faster than anyone!"
Leo's eyes grew wide. He thought of his best friend Sam, who was always picked last for baseball because Sam couldn't run fast. Sam would come home crying, wishing he could be faster.
Leo made a choice. "I won't eat you," he told the Magic Vitamin Ball. "I'll give you to my friend Sam. He needs you more than I do."
The ball glowed brighter. "Your kindness is the real magic," it said. "Because you shared, now BOTH of you will have my gift!"
Leo ran all the way to Sam's house, his feet light as feathers. He gave Sam the Magic Vitamin Ball, and they shared it together.
From that day on, whenever they played baseball, Leo and Sam were the fastest runners. But they learned something more important than winning—true friendship means sharing your gifts, even when they're magical.
And sometimes, the palm tree still drops little rainbow balls for other children who need them most.
