The Palm Tree Bear

Lily loved her grandmother's house, especially the little palm tree in the sunny corner. Every summer, she would sit beside it and listen to Grandma's stories.

"This palm tree is special," Grandma would say, her eyes twinkling. "It holds magic."

One hot afternoon, while watering the plant, Lily noticed something extraordinary. A tiny bear, no bigger than her thumb, peeked out from between the palm fronds! He had soft brown fur and a friendly smile.

"Hello!" squeaked the bear. "I've been waiting for someone to water me properly. That's why I'm so small."

Lily couldn't believe it! A magical bear living in her palm tree!

"I'm Pip," said the bear. "I need three drops of water from the morning dew, three wishes from a kind heart, and three days of friendship to grow big enough to grant a wish."

Lily promised to help. Each morning, she collected dewdrops in a small cup, watching as Pip drank them and grew slightly bigger each day. They shared stories and laughter, and Lily wished for three things: happiness for her family, health for her grandma, and friendship forever.

On the third day, Pip was as big as a teddy bear.

"Your wishes were so pure," Pip said, "that they've already started coming true! Look!"

Lily looked around. Grandma was dancing in the garden, feeling stronger than ever. Her parents were laughing together. And in her palm, she felt something warm and magical—a tiny seed.

"Plant this," Pip whispered. "And you'll always have magic."

Lily planted the seed beside the palm tree. That summer, a new palm tree sprouted, and soon, another tiny bear appeared.

Some secrets are meant to be shared with friends who believe in magic. And Lily learned that the best wishes are the ones you help grow yourself.
