The Palm That Caught Lightning
Leo loved living by the ocean. Every morning, he would run barefoot across the warm sand to watch the waves crash. The salty water sparkled under the sun like thousands of tiny diamonds.
One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. Thunder rumbled like a sleeping giant waking up. Leo's grandmother called him inside, but he stayed near the window, watching. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed—CRACK! It struck the old palm tree at the edge of their yard.
The tree began to glow.
Leo couldn't believe his eyes. Where the lightning had struck, the palm tree's trunk started shimmering with a soft blue light. Something magical was happening.
When the storm passed, Leo ran outside to investigate. From the palm tree's bark, clear water was dripping—but it wasn't ordinary water. Each drop sparkled with tiny flashes of light, like stars trapped in liquid.
He dipped his finger in the glowing puddle. Suddenly, he saw visions of faraway places: mountains made of ice, deserts of golden sand, oceans deeper than anything he'd imagined. The magic water was showing him the world!
But the water was running out, dripping into the sand and disappearing. Leo had to think fast. He grabbed his favorite blue bucket from the porch and collected every drop he could find.
That night, he poured the magic water into the ocean. "Show everyone your wonders," he whispered.
The next morning, children from all over the world were writing letters about the amazing dreams they'd had—dreams of exploring mountains, deserts, and deep oceans. The magic water had shared its visions with everyone.
Leo visited the palm tree and whispered, "Thank you."
The wind rustled its leaves, and Leo could have sworn the tree whispered back: "Magic shared grows stronger."
From that day on, Leo understood that the best adventures are the ones we share with others. And whenever storms came, he watched the old palm tree—waiting for lightning to strike again, knowing that magic can be found in the most unexpected places.
