The Palm Sprite's Magic Hair
Leo pushed the green mound around his plate. 'I don't like spinach,' he mumbled.
But then something extraordinary happened. A tiny creature, no bigger than a thumb, popped out from behind the salt shaker. She had wild green **hair** that looked exactly like the curly leaves of spinach!
'Hello!' she squeaked. 'I'm Spinella, and I'm a Palm Sprite!'
Leo gasped. 'A what?'
Spinella hopped onto his **palm**, and he felt a warm tingling sensation. 'I live in the lines of lucky children's hands,' she explained. 'But I'm in trouble! My magic is fading because I haven't had fresh spinach in three days.'
'But spinach is yucky!' Leo protested.
Spinella's green hair drooped. 'Without spinach, my magic will disappear forever. And I'll never be able to help my friends.' Her eyes sparkled with tears. 'The forest creatures need my magic to heal sick trees and help baby birds learn to fly.'
Leo looked at the tiny sprite in his hand. She was so small, so helpless. He remembered what his grandmother said: 'Real magic comes from kindness and courage.'
He took a deep breath. 'What if I try the spinach with you?'
Spinella's hair stood up straight! 'Really?'
Leo ate a forkful. It wasn't so bad — actually, it tasted like adventure! As he swallowed, Spinella's hair began to glow emerald-green.
'You're amazing!' she cheered, dancing in his palm. 'You didn't just eat vegetables — you believed in magic!'
That night, Leo dreamed of soaring through forests with Spinella, healing trees and helping baby birds. When he woke up, something incredible had happened: a tiny green sprout was growing from the lines of his palm.
'Now you're a Guardian of the Palm,' Spinella whispered. 'Together, we'll do magic every day!'
Leo smiled at his breakfast. 'Pass the spinach, please!'
