The Palm-Sized Pyramid

Zara loved exploring her grandmother's garden, especially on hot summer days when the sun painted everything gold. Behind the old stone house stood a magnificent palm tree that towered above the roof, its long leaves swishing like giant green skirts in the breeze.

One afternoon, while digging near the palm tree's trunk, something sparkled in the dirt. Zara brushed away the soil and gasped—a tiny golden pyramid no bigger than her thumb! The little pyramid gleamed in the sunlight, covered in mysterious symbols that seemed to shimmer and shift.

"What are you?" she whispered, cupping it carefully in her palm.

Suddenly, the pyramid grew warm. Zara's heart began racing faster and faster. She felt herself shrinking, smaller and smaller, until she stood no taller than a blade of grass. The palm tree above had transformed into a towering skyscraper of bark and greenery!

A tiny blue dragon with emerald scales fluttered down from a leaf. "Welcome, Zara! I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find the Pyramid of Wishes."

"Wishes?" Zara asked, her eyes wide.

"One wish for pure hearts," the dragon explained. "But you must earn it first. Are you ready for some running?"

He led her through an enchanted obstacle course—darting between dewdrops on spiderwebs, jumping over acorns like boulders, and sliding down rainbow-colored petals. Zara laughed as she ran, faster than she ever had before, the wind singing in her ears.

When they finally reached the top of a mushroom, the dragon smiled. "You did it! You ran with joy, not to win. Now, make your wish."

Zara thought carefully. She remembered her grandmother, who missed her friends in the faraway desert. "I wish for a magical way for Grandma to visit her friends whenever she wants."

The pyramid glowed brilliantly. Grass instantly sprouted around the palm tree, arranging itself into comfortable seats where imaginary friends could gather. In that special spot, anyone could close their eyes and visit dear ones far away.

Zara grew back to her normal size, the pyramid now a regular stone. But she knew the magic was real—some treasures are measured not in gold, but in the wishes we make for others.
