The Palm Pyramid Magic
Lily woke up one morning to find something strange on her hand. Right in the center of her palm, a tiny pyramid glowed with golden light. It was no bigger than a freckle, but it pulsed like a little heartbeat.
"What are you?" she whispered.
Her iPhone sat on her nightstand, but the pyramid had nothing to do with that. This was something magical.
Suddenly, golden hair began growing around the pyramid, weaving itself into beautiful patterns across her palm. The hair shimmered with all the colors of sunrise—pink, orange, and yellow.
"You found it!" a tiny voice chimed.
A fairy no bigger than Lily's thumb appeared from behind the pyramid. She had flowing silver hair and wings like a dragonfly.
"I'm Zia, guardian of the Pyramid of Dreams," the fairy explained. "It belongs in the Land of Small Wonders, but a dark shadow stole it and hid it here, in your palm."
"Land of Small Wonders?" Lily asked, eyes wide.
"It's where all children's happiest dreams live," Zia said. "But without the pyramid, the dreams are fading. Children everywhere are forgetting how to imagine wonderful things."
Lily felt a warmth spread through her chest. "How can I help?"
"Your pure heart unlocked the pyramid's magic!" Zia did a joyful spin. "Only someone kind and brave could find it. Now you can help me return it!"
Zia touched Lily's iPhone with her wand. The screen swirled with rainbow colors, showing a tiny door opening in the palm pyramid.
"Step through!" Zia urged.
Lily took a deep breath and touched her palm to the phone's screen. WHOOSH! She shrank down until she was fairy-sized, and together they flew into the most beautiful place she'd ever seen.
The Land of Small Wonders was filled with glowing flowers, sparkling streams, and creatures made of starlight. But everything looked tired and gray.
As Lily placed the pyramid on its pedestal, golden light burst outward. Flowers bloomed instantly. Creatures woke from their sleep. Colors returned brighter than ever.
"Thank you, Lily!" Zia hugged her cheek. "You saved our world!"
When Lily woke up in her bed, she thought it might have been a dream. But there, in the center of her palm, was a tiny golden pyramid-shaped freckle. And from that day on, her imagination was more powerful than ever.
