The Padel Court Magic
Lily pushed open the gate to the old padel court, her golden retriever Max bouncing beside her. The court had been abandoned for years, with ivy crawling up the wire fences and moss carpeting the ground. But Lily loved it here. It felt magical.
"Come on, Max!" she called, dropping her padel racket. The dog chased after it, tail wagging furiously. But suddenly, Max froze. A low growl rumbled in his throat.
From behind the cracked court wall shuffled a figure - a boy with pale green skin, tangled hair, and clothes covered in moss. He moved slowly, like a zombie from the movies. Max backed away, whimpering.
Lily's heart raced. But then she noticed the boy's eyes - sad, lonely, and full of wonder. He wasn't scary. He looked... lost.
"I won't hurt you," she whispered. The boy's eyes widened. He pointed at her iPhone, which glowed in her hand.
Lily held it out. The boy reached with mossy fingers, and when he touched the screen, it flashed with golden light. The mossy skin faded away, revealing a regular boy with messy brown hair and a big smile.
"I was cursed!" he exclaimed. "For ninety-nine years, I've been a forest zombie, waiting for someone with a pure heart to share their light with me."
His name was Leo, and he'd been trapped here since 1925. Together, they played padel - Leo was amazing! They laughed until sunset, Max barking at every missed shot. And before Leo faded back into the forest, he left something special: a tiny padel racket made of enchanted wood.
"True friends," he whispered, "see with their hearts, not their eyes."
Now, every full moon, Lily returns to the padel court. Sometimes she sees Leo dancing among the trees, no longer a zombie, but a magical guardian of the court. And Max? He wags his tail, knowing that kindness is the most powerful magic of all.
