The Padel Court Magic
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house by the sea. Every summer, she'd explore the garden, chase butterflies, and eat sweet papaya from the big tree behind the house. But this summer was different.
One afternoon, Lily was playing on the old padel court near the beach when she noticed something strange. The vines wrapped around the rusty fence seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. Curious, she reached out to touch them.
Suddenly, the vines began to move! They weren't scary at all — they were gentle and green, wiggling like friendly worms. A small, round creature popped out from between the leaves. It looked a bit like a zombie from her storybooks, with droopy eyes and messy green hair, but instead of being frightening, it was the cutest thing Lily had ever seen.
"Hello!" the little zombie said. "I'm Zimby! I've been sleeping in this padel court for one hundred years!"
Lily gasped. "A hundred years? But how?"
Zimby giggled. "Magic water!" He pointed to a tiny spring that bubbled up from the ground near the court. "This water keeps everything young and happy. But someone has been polluting it. Can you help me?"
Lily's iPhone suddenly buzzed in her pocket. Her grandmother had sent her a photo of the beautiful beach from years ago, before the water started getting dirty. Lily knew what she had to do.
"I'll help!" she declared.
Together, Lily and Zimby worked all afternoon. They planted more flowers around the spring, and Zimby used his magic vines to filter the water. When they were hungry, they shared papaya from grandmother's tree — Zimby had never tasted anything so delicious!
By sunset, the water was crystal clear again. Fireflies danced around the padel court, and the whole garden seemed to glow.
"Thank you, Lily," Zimby said, giving her a gentle hug. "You showed me that even small people can make big changes."
Lily smiled, knowing this was the best summer adventure ever. Sometimes, the best friends are found in the most unexpected places — even inside an old padel court.
