The Orange That Saved the Day
Lily was running through her backyard when she spotted something strange poking out from under the old oak tree. It was a thick black cable, covered in moss and looking like it had been there forever.
Curious, Lily tugged gently. To her surprise, the cable began to glow with a soft golden light! She followed it deeper underground until she found herself in a magical cave filled with sparkling crystals.
In the center of the cave sat a friendly zombie named Zed. But Zed wasn't scary at all—he wore colorful patches on his clothes and had the biggest, kindest eyes Lily had ever seen.
"Hello there!" Zed waved, his voice sounding like rusty hinges but very warm. "I've been waiting for someone to find me. I'm not very good at running around anymore."
Lily noticed Zed looked a bit pale and tired. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"I haven't had my morning orange in forever," Zed sighed. "The magic orange tree only grows in the human world, and I can't leave my cave."
Without hesitation, Lily reached into her pocket and pulled out the perfect orange she'd picked that morning. Her grandmother always said, "The best adventures start with sharing what you have."
Zed's eyes lit up as he peeled the orange. The moment he took a bite, color flooded back into his cheeks, and the cave sparkled even brighter.
"Thank you!" Zed beamed. "You've taught me something wonderful—kindness is the strongest magic of all."
From that day on, Lily visited her friend Zed often, bringing oranges and stories. And sometimes, when she was running through the backyard, she'd see the glowing cable pulse, reminding her that the best discoveries come from being curious and kind to everyone you meet.
