The Orange That Hit a Home Run

Tommy loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he'd grab his glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But one Tuesday, something magical happened.

While walking home, Tommy spotted a strange orange rolling down the street. It wasn't a regular orange—it glowed with a warm, golden light and seemed to bounce with purpose. He chased it around the corner and found himself in a part of the neighborhood he'd never seen before.

There, sitting on a park bench, was a girl his age holding an old iPhone. The phone wasn't working, but she kept tapping its screen anyway.

"It won't turn on," she said sadly. "My grandma gave it to me before she moved away. It has all her voice messages."

Tommy's magical orange suddenly jumped from his hand and landed right next to the girl. She looked up, and her eyes widened.

"I'm Mia," she said. "Is that your orange?"

Before Tommy could answer, the orange split open on its own. Inside weren't regular fruit sections—tiny, glowing baseballs tumbled out! They bounced around Mia's iPhone, and suddenly the screen flickered to life.

"Grandma's messages!" Mia cried, pressing buttons. "But how...?"

The tiny baseballs formed a perfect arc in the air, spelling out words: SOME THINGS ARE MAGIC WHEN YOU SHARE THEM.

"Do you like baseball?" Tommy asked.

"I love it!" Mia exclaimed. "But I don't have anyone to play with."

Tommy grinned. "Now you do."

They spent the rest of the afternoon playing baseball with the magical orange sections, which turned back into regular oranges after Mia's phone worked again. But something special remained—Tommy had found not just magic, but a true friend.

Every Tuesday after that, Tommy and Mia met at the park. Sometimes they brought oranges. Sometimes they brought baseballs. And sometimes, just sometimes, they'd see a tiny glow in the sky, reminding them that the best magic isn't in phones or fruit—it's in friendship.
