The Orange That Dreamed of Flying

In sunny Orchard Grove, lived a small orange named Pip who had a very big dream. While all the other oranges wanted to become sweet juice, Pip wanted to fly.

Every afternoon, Pip watched children playing baseball in the field beside the orchard. He loved how the ball soared through the sky like a shooting star, higher than the trees, higher than the birds! "Someday," Pip whispered to his friend Blossom the apple, "that will be me."

One windy day, something magical happened. A boy named Leo was practicing baseball all by himself. He swung his bat with all his might, but the ball sailed into the orchard—*bonk!*—right beside Pip.

Leo came running through the grass, his eyes searching everywhere. But he couldn't find his baseball anywhere. Then he spotted something bright and round. "Well, hello there!" Leo said, picking up Pip. "An orange? In a baseball game? Why not!"

Pip couldn't believe it! This was his chance!

Leo tossed Pip gently into the air. Pip's peel tingled with excitement. Then—*WHOOSH!*—Leo hit Pip, and suddenly Pip was flying! He soared past the apple trees, over the fence, and danced with the clouds. The wind tickled his skin, and the sun made him sparkle like gold.

All the oranges in the orchard watched in amazement. Their friend Pip was living his dream!

When Pip finally landed—soft as a feather in the grass—he was the happiest orange in the whole world. Leo picked him up and smiled. "Best game ever!"

That night, all the oranges gathered around Pip to hear about his adventure. And Pip told them something important: "Even small, round things can have big, impossible dreams. You just have to wait for your turn to fly."
