The Orange That Dreamed of Egypt

Lily's favorite orange sat on the windowsill, glowing like a tiny sunset. But this wasn't just any fruit—it was the most thoughtful orange in all of Florida. Every night, it would listen to Lily's bedtime stories about faraway places. Tonight, she was reading about ancient Egypt.

"I wish I could see a real pyramid," Lily sighed, hugging her stuffed bull, Buster. "They're giant triangle tombs from thousands of years ago!"

The orange trembled with excitement. It had a secret—it could grant one wish to someone pure of heart. That night, as Lily slept, the orange rolled off the sill and burst into a shower of golden sparkles.

When Lily opened her eyes, she wasn't in her room anymore. Golden sand stretched in every direction under a sky so blue it made her dizzy. And there, rising from the desert like a mountain made of moonlight, stood the Great Pyramid. But something was missing—the very tip of the pyramid glowed with the same orange color as her magical fruit!

"You came!" rumbled a deep voice. Lily turned to see a magnificent bull with golden horns and eyes full of ancient wisdom. "I've been waiting for a friend. The pyramid's heart has turned into an orange, and without it, all the desert magic is fading."

Lily gasped. "That's MY orange! Well... it WAS."

"The pyramid chose you because you have a kind heart," said the bull. "Will you help us return it?"

Lily nodded bravely. Together, she and the bull climbed the ancient stones. At the top, she placed the glowing orange into a special slot. Instantly, golden light burst across the desert. Flowers bloomed in the sand. Stars twinkled into shapes of bulls and oranges.

"Thank you, friend," the bull nuzzled her hand. "Whenever you need an adventure, just peel an orange and think of Egypt."

Lily woke up in her bed. Buster the toy bull was beside her, and on her nightstand sat one perfect, glowing orange. She smiled, knowing magic was real—and it tasted just like sunshine.
