The Orange That Could Roar
Barnaby was a bear with a very special talent. He could paint with his paws! Every morning, he'd dip his big fuzzy paw into berry juice and draw pictures on tree bark. But Barnaby had a problem. He only knew how to paint in shades of blue and purple, because those were the only berries that grew near his cave.
One sunny afternoon, Barnaby spotted something glowing in the meadow. It was bright and round—the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen! An orange! He'd never seen anything like it. When he picked it up, the orange wiggled and let out a tiny ROAR!
"I'm Oliver," said the orange. "And I'm here to help you paint!" Barnaby couldn't believe it. This orange could talk!
Just then, a small dog named Daisy trotted by. She was carrying a paintbrush in her mouth and looked very sad. "I lost my home," she whimpered. "My family moved away and I don't know where to go."
Barnaby's heart felt funny. He knew what it was like to feel lonely. "Come with me," he told Daisy. "We can paint a new home together!"
Oliver the orange rolled around, squeezing his magical juice onto rocks and leaves. Suddenly, Barnaby and Daisy had every color they could imagine! Bright orange, happy yellow, grassy green. Together, they painted the most beautiful doghouse anyone had ever seen. It had rainbow flowers and dancing suns painted all over it.
Other animals came to watch. A squirrel brought acorns. A bird offered feathers. Everyone wanted to help decorate Daisy's new home.
That night, as Daisy slept soundly in her colorful new house, Barnaby realized something wonderful. He didn't need just blue and purple anymore. And Daisy didn't need to feel lonely. Sometimes, the best things in life come from making new friends and trying new colors.
The magical orange? He rolled right into Barnaby's cave, happy to be part of their family. And from that day on, whenever Barnaby painted, he used ALL the colors of friendship.
