The Orange That Could Fly
In the middle of sunny Mimosa's backyard stood a very old palm tree. Every day, Mimosa would wave her palm against the rough bark and whisper her secrets to the wise tree.
One afternoon, Mimosa found something mysterious under the palm tree—a bright orange hat, perfectly round and fuzzy, just like the oranges growing in her grandfather's orchard.
"That's strange," she said, picking it up. "Oranges don't wear hats."
But suddenly, the orange wiggled. Then it rolled. Then, in a tiny, squeaky voice, it said, "Actually, I've been looking everywhere for this!"
Mimosa nearly dropped it in surprise. "You can talk?"
"Of course!" said the orange, adjusting its tiny green hat. "I'm Oliver, and I have very important business. You see, I've always dreamed of flying. I want to see what the world looks like from above the palm tree!"
Mimosa's eyes widened. "But oranges can't fly."
"Not with that attitude!" Oliver cheered. "Will you help me?"
So Mimosa carried Oliver to the very top of the palm tree. She held him gently in her palm as they watched the sunset paint the sky gold and purple.
"It's even more beautiful than I imagined," Oliver whispered. "Thank you, Mimosa. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones we share with friends."
That night, Mimosa learned something magical: even the smallest dreams can come true when you have a friend to help you reach them.
And sometimes, if you listen very carefully, you might hear an orange wearing a hat dreaming of impossible, wonderful things.
