The Orange Storm Bull
Timmy loved thunderstorms. Most children hid under blankets when the sky turned dark, but Timmy pressed his nose against the window, waiting for the magic.
One evening, as he ate a glowing orange from his grandmother's orchard, lightning flashed—a brilliant purple streak that didn't fade. Instead, it danced across the lawn and spun into a swirling portal of light.
From the portal stepped a magnificent bull made entirely of storm clouds and starlight. Its eyes were warm brown, and its horns crackled gently with orange sparks.
"I'm Nimbus," the bull rumbled softly. "I swim through storm clouds, and tonight I need a friend."
Timmy's eyes widened. "You swim? In the sky?"
"The sky is an ocean," Nimbus nodded. "But tonight, the Great Gray Storm has trapped all the shooting stars in its net. Will you help me set them free?"
Timmy didn't hesitate. He climbed onto Nimbus's back, and suddenly they were rising—floating above the roof, running across clouds that felt like cotton candy.
"Hold on!" Nimbus called, and suddenly they were swimming through a thunderhead. Raindrops sparkled like diamonds around them. Thunder rumbled like a friendly giant's laugh.
They found the Great Gray Storm—a massive swirling cloud that indeed held a net of gleaming stars. The stars twinkled sadly, trapped like fireflies in a jar.
"I know what to do!" Timmy said. He peeled his orange and held out the segments. "Orange is the color of dawn. It defeats darkness!"
He tossed the orange pieces into the storm. They burst into golden light that unraveled the net. Free at last, the shooting stars zoomed away, painting trails of silver across the night sky.
"Thank you, Timmy," Nimbus said, lowering him back to his bedroom window. "Remember: courage isn't the absence of fear. It's helping others even when you're afraid."
Timmy watched Nimbus swim back into the lightning, his orange-glowing horns fading into the storm. And from that night on, every thunderstorm became an adventure waiting to happen.
