The Orange Splash Adventure
Lily loved the old swimming pool behind her grandmother's house. It wasn't just any pool—it was magical, or so Lily believed. Every summer, she and her best friend Marco would spend hours splashing in the cool blue water, imagining it was an enchanted ocean.
One hot afternoon, Lily's grandmother handed them something unusual—a bright orange ball she called a padel ball. "This isn't ordinary," she whispered with a twinkle in her eye. "It belongs to the Pool Spirit."
Lily and Marco exchanged excited glances. The Pool Spirit! Grandmother had told them stories about the magical creature who guarded the pool and granted wishes to kind children.
"What should we wish for?" Marco asked, bouncing the orange ball on the water's surface.
Lily thought hard. Her little brother Tommy had been sick all winter, missing school and feeling sad. "I wish for something to make Tommy strong and healthy again," she said softly.
Just then, the orange ball began to glow! It bobbed toward the deep end and suddenly sank into the water. Lily and Marco held hands and dove after it.
Underwater, everything sparkled with golden light. The orange ball floated in front of a beautiful mermaid with hair like seaweed and eyes like pearls. She was the Pool Spirit!
"You have kind hearts," the Spirit sang. "You wish for someone else's happiness. For this gift, I shall help."
She touched the orange ball, and it burst into hundreds of glowing pieces that looked like little orange drops. "These contain a special vitamin from my magical garden," she explained. "Each drop holds sunshine and health."
Lily and Marco gathered the glowing drops in their hands. When they surfaced, the drops had transformed into delicious orange gummy shapes.
Grandmother smiled knowingly as they rushed to show her their treasure. "The Pool Spirit always helps those who help others," she said.
Tommy took the orange treats and soon felt much better. From that day on, every time Lily and Marco visited the pool, they left a small thank-you gift for the Pool Spirit—an orange flower, a pretty shell, or a wish written on a piece of paper.
And sometimes, if they looked very carefully, they could see the mermaid smiling back at them from beneath the shimmering water.
